Materials Needed
2 bottles
Black and white Paint
Paint brush
Thermometer
Experiment
Take 2 bottles
Fill both with water and close the lids
Paint 1 bottle black
Paint 1 bottle white
Open the lids
Keep both bottles in the sunshine for certain time. (we kept for 1/2 an hour)
Record temperature of water in both bottles
Our observation
water in the white bottle - normal
water in the black bottle - 101 C
Learning
Colours have power to attract or detract sunlight or sun rays
Each colour reacts differently to the solar energy
Black colour absorbs heat and white colour detracts heat
